///Can We Become Immortal article is an interview of molecular Biologist, Elizabeth Blackburn, addressing how we age through our telomeres. We created chromosome characters to represent the “bad” telomeres and “good telomeres. The spreads are designed with Popular Science magazine visual language.

Telomeres are the caps at the end of each strands of DNA that protects our chromosomes. Based on Blackburn’s studies, the length of the telomeres determines the life expectancy of a person. Our daily lives activities is one way that contributes to the length of our telomeres.

Chromosomes that lives an unhealthy lifestyle such as being overstressed, drinking, and smoking
have much shorter telomeres. On the other hand, chromosomes that live a well-balanced lifestyle
have longer telomeres.
